Terms & Conditions

By purchasing, accessing, or enrolling in The Manuscript Intensive ("Program"), you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not purchase or enroll in the Program.

1. Program Overview

The Manuscript Intensive runs for 12 weeks. It begins on the date of your Kickoff Call and ends 12 weeks thereafter.

We meet every week for the first month, then every other week through the end of the program. Didn't finish your chapter? We meet. Life got busy? We meet. Feeling stuck? That's exactly when we meet — because working through roadblocks is the work. You don't need to have your manuscript submission ready to get value from a call. Momentum is built in the meeting, not before it.

What this also means is that missed calls, late starts, or incomplete assignments don't extend the engagement. The 12-week container exists to create focus and urgency — two things that are essential to actually finishing a book. It is the client's responsibility to show up and engage fully within that window.

2. No Guarantees of Results

We do not guarantee manuscript completion, publication, book sales, royalties, revenue, leads, clients, or business outcomes of any kind. Any examples, testimonials, or case studies shared are illustrative only. Your results depend on your effort, consistency, execution, availability to attend calls, and complete writing assignments. By enrolling, you acknowledge that results are not guaranteed.

3. Earnings & Business Disclaimer

This Program may discuss authority building, lead generation, book sales, and business strategy. All income, growth, or outcome references are aspirational examples, not promises. You are solely responsible for all business decisions made during or after the engagement. We are not liable for any business losses or missed opportunities.

4. Client Responsibilities

You agree to attend all scheduled coaching calls or provide at least 24 hours notice to reschedule, submit manuscript drafts and assignments in advance of calls where applicable, and complete the writing work between sessions. Failure to fulfill these responsibilities does not entitle you to a refund or extension of the engagement.

5. Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of all manuscript content and materials you create during the Program. All coaching frameworks, feedback documents, templates, and proprietary tools shared during the Program are protected by copyright. You may not share, resell, or redistribute coaching materials, use proprietary frameworks to create a competing product, or record any coaching session without prior written consent. Violation may result in immediate termination without refund, legal action, and damages recovery.

6. Refund Policy

All sales are final. No refunds will be issued after enrollment regardless of progress made, calls attended, or changes in personal or business circumstances. If you are on a payment plan, you remain responsible for all scheduled payments regardless of whether you continue to participate. The single exception: if Jacob Ratliff is unable to fulfill the coaching engagement due to circumstances on our end, a prorated refund will be issued for unused sessions.

7. Payment Plans

If you enroll using the 3-payment option, all payments are mandatory and non-refundable. Failure to make a scheduled payment may result in suspension of coaching services until payment is received. Continued non-payment may result in termination of the engagement and pursuit of the outstanding balance.

8. Scheduling and Rescheduling

A minimum of 24 hours notice is required to reschedule a call. Calls cancelled with less than 24 hours notice or missed without notice will be forfeited and not rescheduled. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate rescheduling requests but cannot guarantee specific time slots.

9. Async Support

Async manuscript feedback is available for one manuscript review per week with a 48 business hour turnaround. Async support does not include copy editing, proofreading, or ghostwriting.

10. No Professional Advice

The Program does not provide legal, financial, accounting, tax, or publishing law guidance. You are responsible for ensuring your manuscript complies with applicable laws, copyright compliance, FTC disclosure requirements, and any platform terms of service. Consult appropriate professionals where necessary.

11. Confidentiality

Both parties agree to keep confidential any sensitive business information or proprietary materials shared during the engagement. Jacob Ratliff may reference the existence of the coaching relationship and general outcomes for marketing purposes unless the client explicitly requests otherwise in writing.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost profits or revenue, business interruption, or data loss. Maximum liability shall not exceed the total amount paid for the Program.

13. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

If you initiate a chargeback without contacting us first, coaching services may be immediately suspended, you may be sent to collections, and legal remedies may be pursued. We encourage resolution through direct communication before initiating any dispute.

14. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate the engagement immediately if the client engages in abusive, threatening, or inappropriate behavior, or violates any provision of these Terms. No refund will be issued in the event of termination for cause.

15. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated directly to active clients.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of North Carolina, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

17. Severability

If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Jacob Ratliff Coaching & Consulting regarding the Program. No verbal statements modify these Terms.
